Plantar Fasciitis
Magnetic Molecular Energizing (MME) has
been used effectively for Plantar Fasciitis.
MME treatment is considered
investigational and is utilized under the direction and auspices of an
Investigational Review Board (IRB). The IRB complies with FDA
requirements for investigational therapy usage and results review. MME
therapy is safe and non-invasive. In some cases, patients may experience
some tingling, however, most experience no ill effects and can talk,
sleep, read or watch TV.
Facts about Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar
fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. Plantar fasciitis is
caused by chronic tearing of the plantar fascia which is the support
structure for the inner foot arch.
- Marked pain in the heel upon walking after awakening in the
morning is the most common symptom. After rest, the pain decreases but
returns immediately after walking.
- Plantar fasciitis is more common in middle aged women and young
male runners. Obesity is present in 90% of affected women and 40% of
affected men. All ages can be affected.
Treatment and Case Results Treatment
with orthotics, stretching and medication is frequently successful.
Surgery is frequently performed. Chronic plantar fasciitis that has not
responded to conservative treatment or the patient who does not wish
surgery or has not responded to surgery may want to be considered for
MME.
A.S. is a 21 year old college tennis player. She
complained of pain and swelling over the inner arch and heel
associated with a tennis injury several months earlier. It was
aggravated by pressure of walking, running and other physical
activity. After 40 hours of MME magnet time she indicated 80%
improvement. Improvement continued after MME was completed.
Although no absolute assurances can be
given, there is good reason for optimism for benefit, in individuals who
are accepted for treatment, after review and screening. MME appears to
enhance and speed the healing of tissues at the cellular and molecular
level.
